At least someone gets it...

(ongoing "discussion" between me, John, and Tim regarding sleepovers):

Timmy: "I can't believe that we only get one sleepover in the summer.
Johnny: "Mom, you got to spend the night all the time when you were a kid."
Timmy: "And nothing bad happened to you."
Matty: "Yea, but now hers the mom and hers in charge."

Thanks, Matty.

(Note: I absolutely hate sleepovers, for many reasons, and therefore don't allow the boys to have them. They still never give up asking year after year. I seem to be the odd parent out on this issue, but that's o.k. And I'm really not happy about letting them have one each this summer, but I'm trying to be a little nice.)

Loving Strawberry season...

This is Matty's favorite breakfast right now...Strawberries (sprinkled with sugar) and Cinnamon Sugar Tortillias. I know, my kids are sugar heads. But so are Scott and I.
Sammy wanted to give everyone a big hug goodbye today. The boys loved it, and Timmy wanted me to take a picture. Boys can be sweet like that, sometimes. Sammy is going to be really lonely next year when even Matty is gone all day in 1st grade. So sad.

It's feeling like summer! It's very hot, there are 12 kids in our swimming pool, no more projects, programs, or homework, and it's 6:15 and I haven't even started dinner. Actually, I think it's not going to be such a bad summer, because for the very first time in a long, long time (20 years to be exact) I'm not pregnant, not nursing, and my youngest is three years old. We may just have some fun!

August 1991... The above photo was taken at Greg's 1st birthday party almost 17 years ago! Wow, Scott and I look like babies. I think Scott has aged wonderfully. On the other hand I like myself younger.
The most interesting thing about this picture is that Mike and Greg look identical to Matt and Sam. It's so weird. (Except Matty doesn't have that bowl haircut) My two babies are the spitting image of my oldest two. Also, I wish I would have saved all that fun bling I'm sporting. It's all back in style again! (Thanks Roy and Jen for sending me this photo and the trip down memory lane!)
Happy 6th Birthday, Matty Cat!
Jumped on the trampoline and opened presents...
Posed for a picture with Daddy...
And Mommy...
Blew out the candles on his chocolate volcanoe cake!
Everyone sang "Happy Birthday!"
Matt had lots of fun with his friends, Ronan, Enoch, Marshall, Tye, Weston, & Mack (and brothers, Jake & Sam)
Matt finally had his first friends birthday party. He was counting down the days. I hope you had fun, sweetie. We love you tons! Love, Mom & Dad
